What is this?
Wizard of Oz
All artwork is designed in Illustrator. T-shirts are created as colour separated files for screen printing. The 2013 theme was the Wizard of Oz. The main poster and recital program was based on bridging the gap between the old Wizard of Oz film (the Emerald City) and the new Oz film (the balloon that brought the wizard to Oz). The design had to keep in mind cost of colours with t-shirt printing, so the main design was flattened to use only 4 colours, and set against purple to make the design pop. The t-shirt was printed using discharge inks to create a worn distressed look with a soft hand feel.
Symphony
All artwork is designed in Illustrator. T-shirts are created as colour separated files for screen printing. For this illustration, I decided to create a design that was inspired by tribal african art, featuring a very rough child-like hand drawn look with a striking green backdrop.
Peter Pan
All artwork is designed in Illustrator. T-shirts are created as colour separated files for screen printing. This illustration was created with the t-shirt at the forefront of the design decisions. The concept was to create a shirt with the crocodile coming from the bottom of the shirt to “eat” Peter Pan. The t-shirt was printed using a dual print process (the crocodile was printed separately from the text logo) so the crocodile always started from the bottom seam of the shirt, regardless of the size or shape. The posted is a reflection of the same concept.
Mary Poppins
All artwork is designed in Illustrator. T-shirts are created as colour separated files for screen printing. The theme for the 2011 recital was Mary Poppins. I decided on a retro poster, using 60’s era fonts, and grunged the poster to look old and worn. The main design element was the iconic umbrella; The shape was created out of the typography of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”. The t-shirt design takes the main umbrella element, but puts it as a pop of colour on a black shirt. Several different coloured designs were printed on the black shirt.
Lion King

Who was this for?
This client is a music teacher with over 80 students. Her recitals are elaborately themed musical productions with posters to advertise the event, recital programs at the event, and t-shirts for the children. Every year a new theme is selected and the artwork produced must be applicable to the various print materials to be produced.
